According to Rosenthal & Sorka in the book Managed Vision Care, published by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Inc., 60% of employees surveyed said they would trade two days of vacation for an annual eye exam and pair of eyeglasses.
According to the Optical Manufacturers Association more than 30% of eyewear purchases are now paid for, at least in part, by employer sponsored programs.

- Over 155 million Americans need corrective lenses, yet less than 93 million purchase them regularly
- Numbers will significantly increase over time because of computer use - "computer vision syndrome" costs employers $2 billion a year in diagnosis and treatment
